Its main use is in culinary applications such as soups, sauces, pastas, table oils and fats, meat; but it can also be applied in drinks, dairy desserts and cheeses.
Orange Beta-Carotene, Annato, and Apocarotenal
Altratene® Beta-Carotene
Altratene® is Allied Biotech’s line of Beta-Carotene formulations. Beta-Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, plays a crucial role in bolstering immunity. As a powerful antioxidant, beta carotene helps combat harmful free radicals in the body, which can otherwise weaken the immune system. Moreover, beta carotene supports the production and function of white blood cells, enhancing the body’s ability to fight infections and illnesses. Additionally, it contributes to the integrity of mucous membranes, including those lining the respiratory and digestive tracts, acting as a first line of defense against pathogens.
Annato
Annato, derived from the seeds of the Bixa Orellana tree, is a natural food coloring ingredient offering vibrant yellow, orange, to reddish hues. It contains two carotenoid pigments: oil-soluble bixin and water-soluble norbixin. While sensitive to light and oxygen, annatto is heat-stable, making it an excellent choice for coloring foods like baked goods, beverages, and confections with consistent, warm tones.

Altratene® Apocarotenal
Altratene® Apocarotenal is Allied Biotech’s line of apocarotenal formulations. Apocarotenal is a form of ProVitamin A, but is mainly used as a food colorant.
